- How long were you a member of the team, which department did you belong to?
From 2014 to 2017, I worked in the cylinder head department, which later became the thermodynamics department. From 2016, I also performed the department’s management duties. In the 2017-18 season, as the design manager of the team, we managed the development of the EVO6 engine with Kristóf Kovács.
- What were your main tasks?
In addition to the department and design management duties, I initially worked on the CAD model of the cylinder head and related components, and later I dealt with thermodynamic developments and measurements. One of my biggest projects was the measurement of the flows inside the combustion chamber with a self-built, PIV-based system, from which I later wrote my thesis.
- What are you most proud of among your achievements in the team?
I am most proud of the 3D printed engine, as I was the leader of that project and with only 2 of my teammates, we reached the level in about 1.5 years where we were able to present the world’s first printed engine built into a car on the Zalazone test track at the 2018 FSEast I. Thanks to the close cooperation with Audi, we also gained important contacts and even the manufacturer of the 3D printer visited us and invited us to a conference in Germany where we could present our engine.
- What was your best experience during the 2 years?
As the best experience, I would probably think of the first FSG I went to in 2016. It was amazing to see so many top teams on the track, in the pits and in the campsite. FS culture was completely re-evaluated in me then and I looked at my own and other Hungarian teams with a different eye.
- Why was your time in the team valuable to you?
The time I spent in the team was valuable in many ways, but perhaps I learned the most about project management and its importance. In addition, the most important thing is the relationship system, not only with sponsors and cooperating partners, but also with former teammates, with whom we have mostly maintained a friendly relationship ever since and often help each other professionally.
