After seven years, SZEngine, the student team of Széchenyi University, has changed its basic engine

“After the welcome, SZEngine’s head of construction, Milán Hadarits, explained this year’s developments. The most important change is that the team switched to a new base engine with a displacement of 693 cubic centimeters. The students saw that with the additional performance that can be gained in this way, they gain as much in the lap times as they would lose due to the larger crowd. Another advantage of the construction is that the resonance of the motor can be kept low thanks to the two compensating shafts, which results in a smooth ride. This will be necessary, as this year’s car of the Arrabona Racing Team will be based on a self-supporting frame, which is much more sensitive to engine vibration.” The full article can be read by clicking here.
